The questioner : A person is suffering from gas, but this gas is not accompanied by an odor, and only sometimes produces sounds, and sometimes these sounds are faint. Does this gas invalidate the ablution and nullify the prayer? And if so, O honorable Shaykh, is he required to perform ablution for every prayer when its time enters, or is it permissible for him to perform ablution before the time of prayer?

The Shaykh : If this gas is constant for him and he cannot prevent it, then its ruling is the ruling of incontinence. Accordingly, he does not perform ablution for prayer except after the time of prayer has entered. And if he performs ablution, what comes out after that does not harm him, because it is without his control. But if he performs ablution before the time of prayer enters, and nothing comes out of him, and he remains until the time of prayer enters and he prays, then his prayer is valid, because his first ablution is valid and no invalidator has occurred for him, so he remains in his state of ablution and prays with it after the time of prayer has entered. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you.

The Shaykh : And I advise such a brother.

The questioner : Okay, Shaykh.

The Shaykh : I say: Consult the doctors and look into what the ailment is and what its cause is. It may be that its cause is a difference in foods or drinks. If its cause is a difference in foods or drinks, let him avoid what is a cause for this gas. And if it is diseases in the intestines, let him try to seek cure through medicines or otherwise. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you. This is a questioner, O honorable Shaykh.
