The ruling on the people of Makkah shortening the prayer and the rites of pilgrimage

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Do the people of Makkah shorten the rites of pilgrimage?

Answer:
They follow the pilgrims; because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) approved of them, he did not forbid them, he did not say: O people of Makkah, complete your prayers. Just as he said to them on the day of the Conquest:
Complete your prayers, for we are a people on a journeyأتمُّوا فإنَّا قوم سَفْرٌ
.
Q: If they are far from the Musjid al-Namirah and do not hear the sermon?
A: They pray the midday and afternoon prayers combined on their own in their homes.
Q: And does one of them deliver the sermon to them?
A: If one of them delivers the sermon to them, there is nothing wrong with it, and if they listen via loudspeakers or via the radio, praise be to Allah.
Q: The statement of some scholars that the shortening for the people of Makkah is for travel, is it sound?
A: No, it is not valid, the distance between Mina and Makkah is a travel distance, the distance between Mina and 'Arafah is a short travel.
