The Shaykh : If she becomes pure at the time of the dawn prayer, she performs the full ritual bath and prays the dawn prayer. If she becomes pure at the time of the midday prayer, she performs the full ritual bath and prays the midday prayer. If she becomes pure at the time of the afternoon prayer, she performs the full ritual bath and prays the afternoon prayer, and she is not required to pray the midday prayer according to the stronger opinion in our view. If she becomes pure at the time of the sunset prayer, she performs the full ritual bath and prays the sunset prayer. If she becomes pure at the time of the night prayer, she performs the full ritual bath and prays the night prayer, and she is not required to pray the sunset prayer according to the stronger opinion in our view. This is because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Muwatta Malik 1:15 He said: and he did not say, "and she caught what is combined with it before it." This is the stronger opinion in our view. As for what is narrated from some of the Companions that she repeats the prayer before it, perhaps this is by way of precaution, as she may have become pure during the time of the first prayer but did not notice it.
