The Ruling on Associating with and Befriending One Who Abandons Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He says: I have a friend who does not pray. Should I walk with him, or should I leave him to his own devices and stick to my own path? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
It is not permissible to travel with a companion who does not pray; rather, one must be cautious of him, boycott him while advising him, urging him to fear Allah, guiding him to what is good, and informing him that prayer is the pillar of Islam and one of the five pillars of Islam. In fact, it is the greatest of the pillars and the largest of the pillars after the two testimonies. So you must advise him, convey to him the command of Allah, and strive in calling him to what is good, so that perhaps he may be guided by your means, and you may have a reward like his. If he refuses and persists, then reject his companionship, do not visit him, and let him not visit you, and do not take him as a friend. Rather, take him as an enemy, and separate from him and boycott him until he repents to Allah Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
