The torment of the deceased in his grave due to the delay in settling his debts

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is the issue of the deceased being tormented in his grave because he died with debts that were not paid, is this issue correct, O Shaykh?

Answer:
I have not come across anything regarding this, but he is tormented for sins and evil deeds. As for the delay in paying debts, there is a detailed ruling on that. However, if he had sins and died without repenting, that is what is feared for him. He is feared for, just as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
That he passed by two graves and saw them being tormented. He said: "What are they being tormented for? Something great?" Then he said: "Yes. As for one of them, he used to walk around spreading talebearing, and as for the other, he did not protect himself from urine."أنه مر على قبرين فرآهما يعذبان، قال: وما يعذبان في كبير ثم قال: بلى، أما أحدهما فكان يمشي بالنميمة، وأما الآخر فكان لا يستنزه من البول
.
The point is that if he has rights that he must fulfill for people, and he is feared to be tormented if he neglects the rights of people, or if he dies without repenting from sins, yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good and do you good.
