The Ruling on Performing Tarawih Prayer at Home

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner says: “I work in a clothing store, and the owner of the store objects to performing tarawih prayer in the mosque, on the grounds that the store is closed for all that time, as he sells nothing during that period. Is it permissible for me to pray alone at home after my work ends?”

Answer:
Night prayer is broad in its scope, and praise be to Allah. One may perform it at home or with the people. If your work requires you to work during the time of tarawih, because you receive a wage for that, and tarawih is a voluntary prayer.
So it is obligatory for you to fulfill the contract between you and your partner. If the contract includes that you must attend to your work after the obligatory prayer, the 'Isha' prayer, then you must attend to your work, unless he permits you. And you are able to perform tahajjud prayer at night in your home, and praise be to Allah.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
