The ruling on one who forgets a verse from Surat al-Fatihah while he is the imam

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Finally, our brother asks and says: A man led the congregation in prayer, but he forgot a verse from Surat al-Fatihah. What is the ruling on his prayer and the prayer of the ma'mum (those praying behind him) behind him?

Answer:
The ruling is that he should perform a rak'ah in place of the rak'ah in which he left out a verse from Surat al-Fatihah. He should perform this rak'ah before he says the taslim, and then perform the prostration for forgetfulness. If a long interval has passed, he must repeat the prayer, and they must repeat it as well. However, if he remembers after the taslim in a short time, he should perform a rak'ah, perform the prostration for forgetfulness, and then say the taslim. If he performs the prostration for forgetfulness after the taslim, that is better. He should perform a rak'ah, then say the taslim, then perform the prostration for forgetfulness after the taslim. This is the best. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
