Question:
The first message in this episode is one that reached the program from Nigeria, sent by a listener there who says: Your brother in Allah, Ibrahim Mustafa. Brother Ibrahim asks about the ruling on using water whose color and taste have changed due to the addition of a medical substance to kill disease-causing insects. Does that affect the water in that case, or not? May Allah reward you with good.
Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance. As for what follows:
This water, which has changed due to the mixing of a pure substance for the benefit of the drinker, is without blame, and it does no harm, as long as the water remains water by its name; it is used for drinking and other purposes, and this mixture that changed it does not harm it, just as it would not be harmed if it changed due to herbs and leaves that fall into it, or dirt, or the like.
As for if it is changed in a way that takes it out of its name so that it is called by another name, such as tea, milk, or cream; then this is not called water, and one does not perform ablution with it, nor does it remove ritual impurity. However, as long as its name remains, it is considered good water, even if some medicine is mixed with it. Yes.
The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
