The Ruling on Prostration of Recitation for a Woman in Menstruation, Post-Natal Bleeding, or Major Ritual Impurity

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible for a woman in menstruation to perform the prostration of recitation?

Answer:
The correct view is that there is no harm in her reading and prostrating; this is the correct view, from memory, not from the mushaf, from memory. This is because she is not like one in a state of major ritual impurity. The duration of major ritual impurity is short; one performs the full ritual bath and reads. One in a state of major ritual impurity does not read and does not prostrate. However, the duration of menstruation and post-natal bleeding is long. Therefore, the correct view is that they may read from memory, and when they reach the prostration, they prostrate. This is because the prostration is not a prayer; the prostration of recitation is not a prayer, but rather it is submission to Allah, like dhikr (remembrance of Allah), and there is no harm in it.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
