The Ruling on the Duha Prayer and the Number of Its Rak'ahs

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The listener, Khamees Muhammad Ali Abu Rayd, asks and says: Tell us about the two rak'ahs of Duha, and about its virtue. May Allah reward you with good. And if I see people praying it, should I join them? Please guide us. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
The Duha prayer is a recommended practice (sunnah) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) advised some of the Companions to perform, and he used to perform it frequently—(peace and blessings be upon him). It is a recommended practice (sunnah) whose minimum is two rak'ahs. If one prays four, or more, there is nothing wrong with it. He may have prayed eight, as he did on the Day of the Conquest, when he prayed eight rak'ahs, (peace and blessings be upon him).
The point is that it is a recommended practice (sunnah) whether one is traveling or resident. If one leaves it off, there is no blame on him. If one is consistent in performing it, that is better. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
