The ruling on the Dhuha prayer, the number of its rak'ahs, and an explanation of its time

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
One of the female listeners, whose name is Rima, is asking a number of questions, among which is a question about the Dhuha prayer, its time, and the number of its rak'ahs. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
The Dhuha prayer is a confirmed sunnah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recommended it to a group of his Companions and said, (peace and blessings be upon him):
For every tasbih (glorification) you have a charity, for every tahmid (praise) you have a charity, for every takbir (exaltation) you have a charity, and for every tahlil (declaration of oneness) you have a charity. He said: And enjoining good is a charity, and forbidding evil is a charity. Then he said: And sufficient for that are two rak'ahs which you bow in the Dhuha.
This indicates its confirmation. It consists of two rak'ahs, and if one prays four or more, that is all good. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed eight rak'ahs of the Dhuha prayer when he entered Makkah; he prayed the Dhuha prayer as eight rak'ahs, offering the closing salam after every two.
The point is that the Dhuha sunnah is recommended and confirmed at all times. If one prays it at some times and leaves it at others, there is nothing wrong with that, but it is better to maintain it consistently. Its minimum is two rak'ahs, and whoever prays more has a greater reward. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good. Could you repeat its time, if you please?

The Shaykh : Its time is from when the sun rises the length of a spear until the sun stands still. This is its time.

The presenter : Until the sun stands still means: until before the midday prayer.

The Shaykh : About half an hour or a third of an hour before the midday prayer. The sun standing still means; because the duration of the standing is not long, when the sun is in the middle of the sky, in the zenith of the sky, this is the standing.
And it is better if the heat becomes intense; when the Dhuha rises, this is the best of its times. If one prays it early after the sun rises, after the sun has risen, that suffices, but it is better when the Dhuha is intense. That is the prayer of the awabin, meaning: those who return to Allah with much worship. Their prayer is when the Dhuha is intense. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
