The ruling on a wife saving from her household expenses without her husband's knowledge

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible for a woman to save money from her own expenses and the expenses of the house and children without her husband's knowledge, knowing that this does not lead to stinginess or miserliness, but rather from the perspective of not being excessive or wasteful in expenses, meaning: economy in spending?

Answer:
If that is for a legitimate Shari'ah interest, which is avoiding extravagance and squandering, then she will be rewarded. However, she should inform her husband of this; she should inform her husband of this so that he can spend the money in another direction. As for saving it for herself without the husband's knowledge, that is not allowed. If the economy is for the benefit of the house, the benefit of the husband, and with the husband's knowledge, then there is no harm in that. This is because economy is required, and extravagance is to be avoided, as is squandering.
Therefore, a woman should be economical. If the husband is lenient, she should be careful with the expenses so that she does not spend except in the appropriate manner, and so that she avoids squandering and extravagance. If the husband is lenient, she should not be lenient. The money will benefit them all. Yes.

The presenter : As for without the husband's knowledge, as you say?

The Shaykh : ... No, she must inform him of it so that he is fully aware. It is not permissible for her to take the money for herself. Rather, it should be for the husband, and for the benefit of the husband, the children, and the household, so that he is fully aware. This is because if she does not inform him, Satan may make it attractive to her to spend it on other needs of her own, specific to herself. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
