The Ruling on a Woman Praying the Friday Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This questioner says, “O His Eminence the Shaykh: Does a woman have the Friday prayer in the Sacred Mosque? Does she pray the Friday prayer like the men, or is it obligatory for her to pray the midday prayer, even if she is in the Sacred Mosque?”

Answer:
The Friday prayer is not obligatory for a woman; it is not obligatory for her. Rather, she must pray the midday prayer in her home. If she prays the Friday prayer with the people, it suffices for her. If she prays the Friday prayer with the people in the mosque, it suffices for her in place of the midday prayer and is sufficient. Otherwise, she prays the midday prayer in her home, four rak'ahs. However, if she attends the Friday prayer in the Sacred Mosque or any other mosque and prays the Friday prayer with the people, it suffices and is sufficient in place of the midday prayer, and praise be to Allah.

The presenter: May Allah reward you.
