The virtue of supplication between the adhan and the iqamah, and hastening to the mosque
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
I ask the Shaykh, if you would be so kind: Is it better to recite between the adhan and the iqamah, or is it recommended to precede the adhan?
Answer: All of it is good, all of it is fine. If one recites between the adhan and the iqamah, there is nothing wrong with it.Bulugh al-Maram 16:116. So if one devotes this sitting to comprehensive supplications between the adhan and the iqamah, that is fine and its answer is hoped for, due to his (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: Bulugh al-Maram 16:116. And if one engages in recitation in a manner that does not annoy the praying people or reciters around him—quiet recitation that does not cause discomfort to those around him and does not disturb them—then all of that is good, and praise be to Allah. And if one hastens and recites before the adhan, he attains the virtue of racing and hastening to the prayer. So he gets the reward of racing and the reward of hastening, and he attains additional virtue in waiting for the prayer and in reciting the Qur'an. All of this is a great good and a great virtue. Yes.
