Claiming descent from other than one's father, and the meaning of the hadith: (Whoever says: The people are destroyed...)

The first message in this episode is from our brother, the listener: Marzuq ibn 'Atiq al-Shadadi. Our brother says: We heard a hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) meaning: Whoever claims descent from other than his grandfather, the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people is upon him. However, some people do not know their grandfather. How does this hadith apply to them? May Allah reward you with good.
Also, he heard that some people say: The people are destroyed. So whoever says that is the most destroyed of them. Please explain these meanings to us as well. May Allah reward you with good.
Answer: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance.
As for what follows:
Authentic hadiths have come from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) indicating the prohibition of claiming descent from other than one's father. It is obligatory for the believer to claim descent from his father, and it is not permissible for him to claim descent from other than his father. The wording is: from his father, not from his grandfather. It is obligatory to claim descent from his father, and it is not permissible to claim descent from other than his father. A warning regarding this has come from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) through many routes. So it is obligatory for the believer to beware of that and not to claim descent from other than his father. This is the obligation of every Muslim, and every Muslim woman. As for the hadith:Sahih Muslim 2623a, it is also an authentic hadith. It is narrated as (he is the most destroyed of them), and it is narrated as (he is the one who destroyed them). The meaning is: he is the one who destroyed them, and they were not destroyed. As for the narration {he is the most destroyed of them}, it means: he is the most severe in destruction among them. The Muslims are not destroyed. Rather, a group among them will remain upon the truth, victorious, until the command of Allah comes, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 1920, and in the other wording: Mishkat al-Masabih 30:296, and in the other wording: Sahih al-Bukhari 7312.
The point is: this Ummah will not agree upon misguidance. Rather, a group among them will remain upon the truth, steadfast upon guidance, and they will not all be destroyed. But as Allah the Exalted said: [Yusuf: 103], most of creation are upon the opposite of the truth, and the correct is with the few, not with the many. He, Glorified and Exalted, said: [Saba: 13], and He, the Exalted, said: [Saba: 20]. So it is not permissible for a Muslim to say: The people are destroyed, or The people are disbelievers. No. But he says: The majority are destroyed, or The majority are disbelievers. That is, a phrase that does not encompass everyone. And he does not say: The majority are disbelievers, but he says: The majority are destroyed. As for generalization, no, generalization is not permissible. Because a group, praise be to Allah, will remain upon the truth, steadfast and firm, until the command of Allah comes. The intended meaning of the command of Allah is: the wind that will be in the end of time. For Allah the Exalted will send a wind in the end of time that will take the souls of the believing men and believing women, so that none will remain except the wicked, and upon them the Hour will be established. And this is after the sun rises from the west, after the final signs, the signs of the Hour. After the sun rises from the west, Allah will send a pleasant wind that will take the soul of every believer, male and female, wherever they are. So none will remain except the wicked, and upon them the Hour will be established. We ask Allah for safety.

When a person says that people are ruined he is himself ruined.
A group of people from my Umma will always remain triumphant on the right path and continue to be triumphant (against their opponents). He who deserts them shall not be able to do them any harm. They will remain in this position until Allah's Command is executed
لا تزال طائفة من أمتي على الحق منصورة لا يضرهم من خذلهم حتى يأتي أمر اللهby those who desert or oppose them till God's affair comes about
من خذلهم ولا من خالفهم حتى يأتي أمر اللهtill the Hour is established, or till Allah's Order comes
The point is: this Ummah will not agree upon misguidance. Rather, a group among them will remain upon the truth, steadfast upon guidance, and they will not all be destroyed. But as Allah the Exalted said:
And most of the people, although you strive [for it], are not believers.
And few of My servants are grateful.
And Iblees had already confirmed through them his assumption, so they followed him, except for a party of believers.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good and do you good.
