The ruling on one who breaks his fast in Ramadan out of necessity
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
From one of the female listeners, who indicated her name with the letters (S. H. Y) from Riyadh, she says in one of her questions: I was overcome by thirst on a day in Ramadan, and I was tending sheep in the desert, so I fainted and broke my fast. What is required of me in that case? May Allah reward you with good.
Answer: Nothing is required of you because of the necessity, but you must make up the fast. When a person is compelled to break his fast, he breaks it and then abstains. If a person is overcome by thirst, he drinks what satisfies his thirst and removes it, then he abstains until sunset and makes up the fast. Likewise, if he is overcome by severe hunger, he eats out of fear of danger, and then he abstains and makes up the fast [al-Taghabun:16]. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
