The ruling on slaughtering for a wali when a servant is blessed with a child

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
From al-Azamiyyah in Baghdad, a message reached the program from the listener: (A. K. M). We presented a question from him in a previous episode, and in this episode he says: What is the opinion of Your Eminence, the Shaykh, regarding the family that, when a child is born to them, slaughters a sheep for one of the imams other than Allah, and this is due to a vow they had made, knowing that they slaughter only for a male child, and do not slaughter for a female? And does the child, after reaching maturity, bear any sin? What must he do? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
This is major shirk (associating partners with Allah), and it is obligatory (wajib) for the one who does it to repent to Allah, then feel remorse, and not return to it. Since he vows a sacrificial animal for so-and-so the wali, if a child is born to him, this is major shirk—we seek refuge in Allah. The vow is worship for Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) . So the one who does this must repent to Allah and not return to such things. As for the child, he owes nothing; because it is not from his action. And Allah says, the Exalted:
and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of anotherوَلا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَى
[Al-An'am: 164]. But the one who did it, whether a man or a woman, must repent and return to Allah, feel remorse for what has passed, and not return to it. And Allah says, the Exalted:
And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.
[An-Nur: 31]. And He says, the Exalted:
O you who have believed, repent to Allah with sincere repentance.
[At-Tahrim: 8]. So supplicating to other than Allah, and seeking aid from other than Allah among the awliya (close friends of Allah) and the prophets, from those in the graves, or seeking aid from the jinn or the angels or the stars and planets, all of this is major shirk. All of this is worship of other than Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) .
And likewise, making vows for them and slaughtering for them, since he vows for the dead, or for the angels, or for the jinn, or for the stars, so that they intercede for him, or save him from the Fire, or cure his sick person, or return his missing person, or the like of that, all of this is major shirk.
Allah the Exalted says:
Say, "Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrificeقُلْ إِنَّ صَلاتِي وَنُسُكِي
[Al-An'am 6:162]
(meaning: my sacrifice)
my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds. (163) No partner has He. And this I have been commanded, and I am the first [among you] of the Muslims."وَمَحْيَايَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ۝ لا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَبِذَلِكَ أُمِرْتُ وَأَنَا أَوَّلُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
[Al-An'am: 162-163]. And He the Exalted says:
(1) Indeed, We have granted you, [O Muhammad], al-Kawthar. (2) So pray to your Lord and sacrifice [to Him alone].
[Al-Kawthar: 2]. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
And whatever you spend of expenditures or make of vows - indeed, Allah knows of itوَمَا أَنفَقْتُمْ مِنْ نَفَقَةٍ أَوْ نَذَرْتُمْ مِنْ نَذْرٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُهُ
[Al-Baqarah: 270].
So the vow is a commitment to worship Allah, whether through charity, or prayer, or other than that, and it is not permissible (ja'iz) except for Allah alone (Glorified and Exalted is He) . The one who vows a sacrificial animal if Allah blesses him with a male child for al-Badawi, or for Shaykh Abdul Qadir, or for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), or for al-Hasan or al-Husayn, or for Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) , or for others, this is considered major shirk.
Likewise, if he were to say: “O Ali, help me,” or “heal my sick person,” or “O my master al-Husayn or al-Hasan,” or “O Messenger of Allah,” or “O my master Abdul Qadir,” or the like, “help me,” or “heal my sick person,” or “I am under your protection and you are sufficient for me,” or “the aid, the aid,” all of this is major shirk (associating partners with Allah). All of this is the worship of other than Allah. And Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) says:
And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth
[al-Bayyinah:5] And He, the Exalted, says:
It is You we worship and You we ask for help.
[al-Fatihah:5] And He, the Exalted, says::
So invoke Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion, although the disbelievers dislike it.
[Ghafir:14] And He, the Exalted, says::
And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Himوَقَضَى رَبُّكَ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوا إِلَّا إِيَّاهُ
[al-Isra:23] And He, the Exalted, says:
so do not invoke with Allah anyone.
[al-Jinn:18] And He, the Exalted, says::
And do not invoke besides Allah that which neither benefits you nor harms you, for if you did, then indeed you would be of the wrongdoers.'"وَلا تَدْعُ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لا يَنْفَعُكَ وَلا يَضُرُّكَ فَإِنْ فَعَلْتَ فَإِنَّكَ إِذًا مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
[Yunus:106] meaning: from among the polytheists, and the verses on this matter are numerous.
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Supplication is worship
. And Allah says, the Exalted:
And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you."
[Ghafir: 60]. So it is obligatory (wajib) for all Muslims, and for all those who are accountable, to be cautious of that, and that worship be for Allah alone, as He said (Glorified and Exalted is He) :
And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion
[Al-Bayyinah: 5]. And He said:
so do not invoke with Allah anyone.
[Al-Jinn: 18]. So it is He who is supplicated to, and it is He who is hoped for (Glorified and Exalted is He) . It is He to whom one draws near with sacrifices and vows, and no one else (Glorified and Exalted is He) .
We ask Allah for guidance and success for everyone, and we ask Allah to rectify the conditions of the Muslims, and to grant them understanding in the religion, and to protect them from everything that contradicts His Shari'ah (Islamic sacred law). Allah is the Helper. Yes.

The presenter : Allah is the One to be sought for help. May Allah reward you with good.
