Slaughter for other than Allah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 4042 ):
Q5: We have many people who vow to slaughter animals for other than Allah, for the dead, and at the same time they say: “O Lord” — for example — “O Lord, if our Lord makes my son or daughter successful, I will slaughter a sheep for you, O Shaykh So-and-So.”
A5: Vowing for other than Allah is shirk (associating partners with Allah), and slaughtering for other than Allah is shirk; because of the saying of Allah
the Exalted:
And whatever you spend of expenditures or make of vows - indeed, Allah knows of itوَمَا أَنْفَقْتُمْ مِنْ نَفَقَةٍ أَوْ نَذَرْتُمْ مِنْ نَذْرٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُهُ
[Al-Baqarah 2:270]
And He the Exalted said:
"Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds. (163) No partner has Heقُلْ إِنَّ صَلاَتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحْيَايَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ (162) لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ
[Al-An'am 6:162-163]
the verse, and his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Allah cursed him who sacrificed for anyone besides Allahلعن الله من ذبح لغير الله
Sahih Muslim 1978b
. And the vow is included in His saying the Exalted:
and my sacrificeوَنُسُكِي
. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
