How a woman covers herself during prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Would you please, O Shaykh, clarify the ruling on hijab during the performance of prayer for a woman?

Answer:
Yes, she must cover her entire body except for the face and the two hands. It is obligatory for a woman to be covered in all of her body during prayer, including the feet. She must wear loose garments that cover the feet, or she must have socks or stockings on her feet. As for the face, it is not obligatory to cover it by the consensus of the Muslims; rather, it is better to uncover it. She should uncover her face in prayer if she is alone and there is no non-mahram present. She should pray with her face uncovered; this is the Sunnah and this is what is better. However, if there is a man present who is not a mahram to her, she should cover it from him. As for the two hands, it is better to cover them, and if she uncovers them, there is no harm—may Allah reward you.
