The ruling on a woman shaking hands with a non-mahram, such as her sister's husband

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible for a woman to shake hands with her sister's husband?

Answer:
Her sister's husband is not a mahram to her, so she must not shake his hand, she must not uncover herself before him, and she must not be alone with him; because he is a stranger. Her sister's husband, her aunt's husband, and her maternal aunt's husband are all strangers. She must not be alone with him, nor travel with him alone, nor with his wife. She must not shake his hand, and she must not uncover herself before him. Rather, she must observe hijab and greet him with a salam without shaking hands. "As-salamu alaykum, so-and-so, how are you? How are the children?" That is sufficient. As for shaking hands, no. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
But I do not shake hands with women.إني لا أصافح النساء
Sunan Ibn Majah 2874Sahih (Darussalam)
, and Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said:
By Allah, the hand of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) never touched the hand of a woman; he only pledged allegiance to them with words.والله ما مست يد رسول الله يد امرأة قط، ما كان يبايعهن إلا بالكلام
, and Allah the Exalted says:
There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who] remembers Allah often.
[Al-Ahzab: 21].
So the Muslims follow his example (peace and blessings be upon him) in not shaking hands. He is the master of creation, the most honorable of them to Allah, and the most distant from all suspicion, and yet... [regarding] shaking hands. So others are even more obligated to be cautious. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
