Question:
This is a message received from a listener of the program. The listener used the code (A. A. A) for his name. He says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding the prayer of the sick person:Sunan Abi Dawud 952Sahih (Al-Albani) How does the sick person pray on his side, and how does he bow and prostrate, and he will be rewarded?
Answer:
This is from the mercy of Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) and His facilitation [al-Baqarah:286] [al-Taghabun:16]. If a person is unable to pray standing, he prays sitting, whether he sits in a square position or in a hunched position; there is no difference in that, any sitting position suffices for him.
However, it is better to sit in a square position. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when he prayed while sitting, would pray in a square position. If he is unable to sit, he prays on his side, and it is better to be on his right side if that is possible, otherwise on his left side. If he is unable to do that, he lies on his back with his feet toward the qiblah. When he prays on his side or lying down, he says Allahu Akbar, intending the prayer, the takbirat al-ihram. Then he recites al-Fatihah and whatever is easy for him to recite with it. Then he says Allahu Akbar, intending the bowing, saying Allahu Akbar, intending the bowing, and says: Subhana Rabbi al-Azim, Subhana Rabbi al-Azim, Subhana Rabbi al-Azim, intending the bowing. Then he says: Sami' Allahu li man hamidah, if he is an imam or praying alone, saying Sami' Allahu li man hamidah, intending the rising from the bowing. Rabbana wa laka al-hamd, and so on. Then he says Allahu Akbar, prostrating, and says: Subhana Rabbi al-A'la, Subhana Rabbi al-A'la, with the intention. Then he says Allahu Akbar, rising, and remains for a while ... between the two prostrations, saying: Rabbighfir li, Rabbighfir li, after rising from the first prostration, he says: Rabbighfir li, while he is on his side. Then he says Allahu Akbar for the second prostration, intending the second prostration, saying: Subhana Rabbi al-A'la, Subhana Rabbi al-A'la, and so on until he completes the prayer. Yes.

offer prayer in standing condition; if you are unable to do so, then in sitting condition: if you are then at your side
