Explaining How to Combat Whispers in Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Allah has afflicted me with obsessive doubts in my prayer, to the extent that I frequently make mistakes in all five daily prayers, and then I repeat them several times. In my ablution, I am plagued by doubts until I repeat it several times. This occurs in all acts of worship, even in matters of creed. When I held firmly to the religion of Allah and repented to Allah, the obsessive doubts increased in me, to the point that I weep from worry, sadness, and the abundance of doubts in prayer and other matters, even in the ritual bath for major ritual impurity. I even hear in my dreams speech that insults the religion or other things, and I wake up from my sleep in terror and seek forgiveness from Allah. It is as if I am saying words of associating partners with Allah and words of disbelief with my tongue. I also hear in my waking state something containing words of associating partners with Allah, and it is as if I am pronouncing them with my tongue. I seek forgiveness from Allah, and worry, distress, and sadness come to me, and I complain of nervousness.
So what should I do if he whispers to me in my prayer, or if I make a mistake due to the abundance of whispers? What should I do if whispers come to me in my dreams or waking state regarding my religion or other things? What should I also do if whispers come to me in acts of worship, such as: if I get angry over the most trivial causes? And should I perform Hajj to the House of Allah while afflicted with whispers, knowing that I have not performed Hajj? How do I drive away the whispers? What religious books do you advise me to read, and what do you advise me through reading the message, and what do you warn me about? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
We advise you to seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan when the whispers occur, and to spit to your left three times and repeat seeking refuge three times, and the whispers will be removed from you, if Allah wills; because the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) advised some of the Companions to do this, and he did it, and the whispers were removed from him. If the whispers pertain to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) or His religion, then say along with seeking refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan: "I believe in Allah and His Messengers," and turn to your prayer and your deeds, and turn away from the whispers with all sincerity and devotion. May Allah heal you and the rest of the Muslims from all evil, and success is from Allah.
