Treating Whispers in Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A listener from Jeddah, who indicated his name by the letters (A. Y. Y. D), says: I am presenting to your honor a case, which is that I am afflicted with excessive thinking while performing the prayer, and sometimes I experience whispers regarding ritual purity. I also experience some dizziness, and my thoughts become preoccupied, especially—as I said—in the prayer. I ask for your guidance on what I should do?
May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
It is obligatory for you to be cautious of whispers and to seek refuge in Allah, asking for relief from them. You ask your Lord that Allah grant you well-being from this; because these whispers are from Satan.
So it is obligatory that you ask your Lord to protect you from his schemes and whispers, and to help you to have presence of heart before Allah, and to avoid whispers.
It is obligatory for you in the prayer and in the ablution: to be cautious of these whispers, and to seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan, even if you are in the prayer. A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Whispers have overcome me—or as he said—so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) guided him to seek refuge in Allah from Satan in the prayer. When he feels it, he should spit to his left three times, and seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan. The Companion—and it was Uthman ibn Abi al-As—said: I did that, and Allah cured me of it.
The point is: you seek refuge from Satan, even if in the prayer. If the whispers become frequent for you, you spit to your left three times, you say: I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan, and that will be removed from you—if Allah wills—along with striving to bring your heart before Allah, and that you are before Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He), and He, Glorified and Exalted is He, is the Watcher over you, so be cautious of whispers, and likewise in the ablution, yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
