The ruling on praying behind one who calls for aid other than Allah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is your ruling on praying behind those who call for aid other than Allah, and being forced to pray in their homes out of reluctance to follow these imams?

Answer:
There is no doubt that praying behind them is invalid due to their involvement in shirk (associating partners with Allah). However, it is not befitting for you to pray in your homes and abandon the congregation. Rather, it is obligatory to pray in a place other than the mosques of these polytheists, or to establish the prayer before or after them, you and the people of tawhid (the oneness of Allah) with you, so that your disavowal of the shirk they are upon becomes clear to everyone, where that is possible and fitnah (trial or discord) is avoided.
As for your hearing some of the brothers narrate from the Mother of the Believers that she said: "The prayer of a believer behind a hypocrite does not harm him, and the prayer of a hypocrite behind a believer does not benefit him," and your asking about the validity of this athar (report), the answer is that I have not come across this athar, and I do not think it is authentic. Even if it were authentic, it would have to be understood in a correct sense, which is that her intention was that a believer is not harmed by his prayer behind a hypocrite if he does not know of his hypocrisy.
