The Prayer Behind One Who Calls for Aid Other Than Allah
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: Is it valid for me to pray behind someone who calls for aid other than Allah and utters words like: "Save us, O Savior, help me, O Jilani"? And if I find no one else, am I permitted to pray in my house?
A: It is not permissible to pray behind any of the mushrikin (those who associate partners with Allah), including those who call for aid other than Allah and seek help from them; because calling for aid other than Allah, whether from the dead, idols, jinn, or otherwise, is shirk (associating partners with Allah) with Allah the Exalted. However, there is no harm in calling for aid from a living, present creature who is capable of helping you, based on the saying of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) in the story of Moses: [Surat al-Qasas: 15].
If you do not find a Muslim imam behind whom you can pray, it is permissible for you to pray in your house. If you find a group of Muslims who are able to pray in the mosque before or after the mushrik imam, pray with them. If the Muslims are able to remove the mushrik imam and appoint a Muslim imam to lead the people in prayer, it is obligatory for them to do so; because this falls under the category of enjoining good and forbidding evil and establishing the law of Allah on His earth, if it can be done without fitnah (trial, discord or temptation), based on the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Surat al-Tawbah: 71] and His saying (Glorified and Exalted is He): [Surat al-Taghabun: 16].
And the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sahih Muslim 49a narrated by Muslim in his Sahih.

The believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong
So fear Allah as much as you are able

He who amongst you sees something abominable should modify it with the help of his hand; and if he has not strength enough to do it, then he should do it with his tongue, and if he has not strength enough to do it, (even) then he should (abhor it) from his heart, and that is the least of faith.
من رأى منكم منكرًا فليغيره بيده، فإن لم يستطع فبلسانه، فإن لم يستطع فبقلبه، وذلك أضعف الإيمان
