Ruling on waking up a sleeping person during the Friday sermon

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Some people sleep during the Friday sermon. If we wake them up, would we be among those who nullify it, such that they have no Friday prayer?

Answer:
It is recommended to wake them up by action, not by speech, because speaking during the time of the sermon is not permissible. This is based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
If you say to your companions: ‘Be quiet’ on a Friday while the Imam is delivering the sermon, you have engaged in Laghw (idle talk or behaviour).إذا قلت لصاحبك أنصت يوم الجمعة والإمام يخطب فقد لغوت
Sunan Ibn Majah 1110Sahih (Darussalam)
It is agreed upon that it is authentic. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called him a nullifier, even though he was enjoining good. This indicates the obligation of listening and the prohibition of speaking during the sermon. May Allah grant success.
