The ruling on a mother who fears she was the cause of her child's death

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
This message came from the sender in al-Hawiyyah, Ta'if. She says: I am the sender (N. S. al-Mutayri). Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings. After that: I inform you that I am a housewife, and I was blessed with a newborn who remained alive for about forty days. One day, I slept before the 'Asr prayer while the baby was fine, and I woke up for the 'Asr prayer to find the baby dead on the bed. Therefore, I feared that I rolled over him while sleeping. Is there anything required of me in this? Please inform me, may Allah reward you with good. I do not know any cause for his death other than the possibility that something happened to him from me while I was sleeping?
Answer: If you, the questioner, do not know that anything happened from you, then there is nothing required of you. Death may come suddenly for reasons that people do not know. If you do not know that you rolled over him, or did something that would be a cause of his death, then there is no blood money or expiation required of you. The original state is that the conscience is free from blood money and expiations unless there is a clear matter that obligates them. Lifespans are in the hand of Allah, and they have causes that may be hidden from people. Therefore, no blood money or expiation is required of you except after knowing that his death was due to your actions. And Allah knows best. We ask Allah to make him an intercessor who is interceded for. Yes.
