Ruling on marrying the sister of a sister through breastfeeding

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
This message reached us from Jizan. Your brother Jabir Saleh al-Nuray, or al-Nurani, says: I am Jabir Saleh al-Nuray, and I am approaching you seeking a solution to my problem from the honor of Shaykh Abdul Aziz. It concerns breastfeeding. He says: I have a cousin’s daughter whom I want to marry, but my mother informed me that she breastfed one of her sisters who has passed away. I want to marry the daughter whom my mother did not breastfeed. Is it permissible for me or not? Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good in this world and the Hereafter?
Answer: Yes, there is no blame on you in marrying the existing daughter; because breastfeeding pertains to the deceased, and the deceased is gone, and her breastfeeding does not extend to her sister. The one your mother breastfed has passed away, and this one was not breastfed by your mother. And you were not breastfed by her mother or her sisters so that she would be your maternal aunt. As long as there is no breastfeeding between you and her, there is no blame in marrying her. Yes.
