Ruling on the bequest of a son whose father manages his affairs

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question: The first part asks: Does a person whose father manages his affairs have the right to bequeath one-third of his wealth upon his death or during his lifetime?
Answer: If he has specific wealth that is known to be his, he may make a bequest. However, if he has no wealth of his own, and the wealth belongs to his father, and his father is the one who supports him and provides for him, then he has no right to bequeath anything, because he has no wealth. But if he has wealth that is specifically his, there is no harm in it; it is recommended for him to bequeath from it. If he has a large amount of wealth, he may bequeath one-third, or one-quarter, or one-fifth; there is no harm in that. It should be directed toward acts of righteousness and good deeds, such as charity for the poor and the needy, building mosques, or offering a sacrifice on his behalf and on behalf of his parents. All of this is among the means of drawing near to Allah.
