Ruling on performing the Friday prayer in the new mosque due to the narrowness of the old one

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
We begin with a letter from our brother Latifi. Latifi Muhammad Husayn al-Yamani says in his letter: There is a mosque where the Friday prayer and congregational prayers are performed, but it has now become too narrow for the worshippers, especially on Friday. A newer, larger mosque has been built. If the Friday prayer is held in the new mosque, is that permissible or not? For the record, two Friday congregations are not held in this small village.
Answer: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon His slave and Messenger, our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family, his Companions, and those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.
As for what follows:
The questioner says: In the village where he lives, there is a small mosque that is too narrow for the people on Friday, and a spacious mosque has been built. Should the prayer be moved to the spacious mosque? This is a matter for the people of the town to decide. You should consult the people of the town and the honorable judge of the town. He will look into the matter. If the first mosque cannot accommodate the people, they should move to the second mosque and pray there. Two Friday congregations should not be held without a valid legal basis. However, in any case, this is a matter for the honorable judge of the town and its notables to look into, and they are, if Allah wills, sufficient to handle it. Yes.
