The Ruling on Marrying a Man Who Shaves His Beard and Smokes

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Your Eminence! Rarely is a proposal free from one of the following traits: the suitor may be beardless, but he prays; or he may be a smoker, but he prays. What is your opinion regarding such traits?

Answer:
If the need calls for it, there is no harm; it is better than the woman remaining unmarried. If the need calls for marrying a beardless man or a smoker, the matter is broader. However, if the one who is free of these traits is available, he is more preferable and more preferable:
So seize the one with religionفاظفر بذات الدين
.
Likewise, a woman should strive to marry a man of religion as much as possible. But if circumstances change, as they have in our time today, and few are left who grow their beards, and few are free from smoking, then there is no blame in marrying him. He may be tested with some of this if no one else is available. Yes.
