The Ruling on Declaring a Person to Be Arrogant and Hypocritical in Worship

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We return to the letter of the listener, Mustawr Hamid Abdullah al-Suwat, from al-Taif, where we have presented a large portion of his questions, and we will present some of his questions in this episode. He asks this question and says: Is it permissible for us to rule that a person is arrogant and hypocritical in worship, or are arrogance and hypocrisy in worship from the knowledge of the unseen, which no one knows except Allah?

Answer:
It is not permissible for you to rule against him with what you do not know, but arrogance and hypocrisy in worship have indicators. If he is accused of that... by way of accusation, such as: his letting his garments hang below the ankles, his not returning the greeting, his not initiating the greeting, and the like of what indicates arrogance, and such as: his praying in the presence of people, and not praying when he is away from people, and this is a sign of hypocrisy in worship and a sign of hypocrisy, so a person is accused based on the indicators he exhibits. As for saying it about him without knowledge, that is not permissible. But the hypocrites are known by their signs, and those who are hypocritical in worship and arrogant are known by their signs. So if he accuses him of what is apparent on him from the signs, then there is no blame in that. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
