The Ruling on the Hadith: (Learn sorcery but do not practice it . . . )

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
One of the female listeners from the Syrian Arab Republic says: Your sister (H. A. H.) asks whether the following hadith is established as a saying of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him):
Learn sorcery, but do not practice itتعلموا السحر، ولا تعملوا به
And is learning sorcery not forbidden, while practicing it is forbidden? In reality, I have heard this hadith from some people, but I do not know about the authenticity of the hadith?

Answer:
This hadith has no basis; rather, it is invalid. It is not permissible to learn sorcery, nor to teach it; because learning it and teaching it is disbelief in Allah. Because learning sorcery means: worshipping the devils, worshipping the jinn, calling for their aid, bringing sacrifices near to them, and the like.
So the point is: it is not permissible to learn sorcery, nor to teach it; rather, one must beware of that. This hadith is invalid and has no basis. This hadith:
Learn sorcery, but do not practice itتعلموا السحر، ولا تعملوا به
This is invalid; it has no basis.
