He also asks about the authenticity of a hadith he heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: ?
Answer: Likewise, this is invalid and has no basis. It is not permissible to learn sorcery or practice it; rather, that is reprehensible. Allah has made His disapproval of it clear in His great Book. He the Exalted said: [al-Baqarah:102], thereby making the teaching of sorcery part of the work of the devils, for which Allah rebuked and blamed them, and they are our enemies. He said: [al-Baqarah:102], then He said after that: [al-Baqarah:102], making it clear that learning sorcery is disbelief and is not good.
Therefore, it is obligatory for the believer to beware of that; because learning sorcery involves worshipping the jinn and submitting to them, calling upon them instead of Allah, and engaging in things that contradict the Shari'ah. So learning it, teaching it, and practicing it are all reprehensible, all misguidance, and all disbelief. Thus, it is obligatory to beware of it. For this reason, Allah informed about the two angels that they do not teach anyone until they say, meaning: until they make him aware that it is disbelief, so that he is on clear knowledge: [al-Baqarah:102]. Then He said: [al-Baqarah:102]. Then He said: [al-Baqarah:102]. So how is it permissible to learn what harms and does not benefit? Yes, Allah is the One to be sought for help. Yes, we ask Allah for safety. Yes.
