The ruling on beginning the recitation before the takbir in the prayer of the festival

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A man led us in the prayer of 'Id al-Adha, but he did not begin with the takbirs. Instead, he started by reciting Surat al-Fatihah and a surah after it. Before bowing, he performed the takbirs, then he bowed. He did the same in the second rak'ah. What is the validity of this prayer? And what was the guidance of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the prayer of the two festivals?

Answer:
There is no harm in this; his prayer is valid. This is the opinion of some scholars. However, the correct and better view is that he should begin with the takbir before the recitation. This is what is preserved from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): that he said the takbir before he recited. He said the takbir for entering the state of ihram, then he said six takbirs in the first rak'ah and five in the second, before the recitation. This is the better and the recommended practice (sunnah). Yes.
