The Ruling on the Zakah of Land and How to Calculate It

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
She says: I have a piece of land that my brothers bought for me five years ago. I have no income from which to pay the zakah on this land. Since that time, my father has been paying the zakah on it based on the price we bought it for, without asking about its current market value at the time of zakah, and he has continued in this manner. She adds that her father continued this way until some scholars issued a ruling to him, stating that it is obligatory for him to pay the zakah based on its current value. She asks whether she must make up the zakah that was missed in the past years? Please guide us, may Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
If the land is for sale, not for accumulation or for residence, but for sale, then it is subject to zakah every year based on its value, every year based on its value. If the zakah paid by the father was less than the obligatory amount, then the remainder that the father failed to pay must be paid. If the father paid the zakah on your behalf and with your consent, then the zakah is valid. However, if the zakah he paid was less than what is obligatory, then you must pay the additional amount that was found to be in excess of what the father paid. You must pay this for the years in which the value increased beyond what the father paid. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
