The ruling on naming a newborn Shihab al-Din

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The Shaykh: The first message in this episode is a message that reached the program from Bahrain, sent by one of the listening brothers, who indicated his name at the end with the letters (A. A. A). One of his questions says: I am expecting a newborn, and I want to choose for him the name Shihab al-Din. What is your opinion regarding such a name?

Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon whoever follows his guidance. As for what follows:
I do not know of any harm in this naming, Shihab al-Din; but other names that are forms of worship directed to Allah are better, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The most loved names to Allah are 'Abdullah and 'Abdur-Rahman.أحب الأسماء إلى الله عبدالله، وعبدالرحمن
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2834Sahih (Darussalam)
If you name him Abdullah, or Abd al-Rahman, or Abd al-Karim, or Abd al-Malik, or Abd al-Qadir, or similar names that are forms of worship to Allah the Exalted, then that is better and more excellent. May Allah guide them all.

The presenter : O Allah, amen. May Allah reward you with good.
