The ruling on a woman traveling for work while accompanied by her husband as her mahram

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This questioner says, O Shaykh: A woman who travels with her husband as her mahram, and she works—for example—in a country where he is with her, and usually he does not work because there is no opportunity for him to work. Does this constitute a reversal of the authority (qawwamah) of men over women? And is this permissible, or not?

Answer:
There is no harm in that; a mahram may travel with her, and she works while he does not work, just as it would be if she went with him and he worked while she did not. Allah has permitted work for everyone. So if work becomes available for her, such as teaching or medicine, and it does not become available for him, there is nothing wrong with a mahram traveling with her to assist her in this work, and the benefit is for them both. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, Your Eminence the Shaykh.
