What one does when the door is knocked on while he is praying

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What should a person do if he is praying alone in his house and the door is knocked on, and there is no one else in the house? Should he go to open it? I have read that he should go to open it and take a few small steps, but if there is a wall and many steps, what should he do?

Answer:
If someone asks permission to enter while he is praying, he should make a sound or say, "Subhan Allah, Subhan Allah," so that the person at the door knows he is praying. He should wait and not break his prayer, unless the door is close; in that case, he should move forward a few steps to open it for him. There is no harm in this, as it is established that he (peace and blessings be upon him) opened the door for Aisha while he was praying. May Allah send blessings and peace upon him.
