Causes and Treatment of Whispers

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This questioner, your brother in Allah, Abu Faisal, has a set of questions. He says: I am a young man of seventeen years old, upright, I fast and pray, and I praise Allah. I say: I do not declare myself righteous, but I am afflicted with a disease, and I hope you will ask Allah for my healing, which is the disease of whispers and thinking about sin. However, praise be to Allah, I do not act on it, and I regret this bad thinking. The question remains: What do you advise me to do, and what are the beneficial books you direct me to? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
We advise you to seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan. This is from Shaytan. The greatest and most truthful book is the Book of Allah, the Qur'an. Allah the Exalted says in it:
And if an evil suggestion comes to you from Satan, then seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, He is Hearing and Knowing.وَإِمَّا يَنزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ نَزْغٌ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ إِنَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
[Al-A'raf: 200]. So you must seek refuge in Allah when the whispers occur, even if it is during prayer. Spit to your left three times and say: I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) guided some of the Companions—when the whispers became severe for them—to guide them to spit to their left three times, and even if in prayer, to say: I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan, three times. So he said it, and what he was feeling went away. He said it, and the whispers he was experiencing went away.
So we advise you to be cautious of the whispers, to seek refuge in Allah from Shaytan, and not to pay attention to them. We advise you to be strong against the whispers, and to seek refuge in Allah from Shaytan wherever you are, even if in prayer. And be glad of good and health. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
