The ruling on a woman sitting with her non-mahram relatives with her face uncovered

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
At the beginning of this episode, we return to the letter from the sisters in the Yemeni Republic (A. W. N. D. Al-Ahmadi). We presented some of their questions in a previous episode, and in this episode they have two questions.
The first question asks: What is the ruling on a Muslim girl sitting with her cousins in the presence of family, wearing the Shari'ah hijab but uncovering only her face?

Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon whoever follows his guidance. As for what follows:
There is no blame on a woman sitting with her cousins and relatives in a gathering where they meet to drink coffee, tea, or the like, provided there is modesty, hijab, and no fitnah (temptation). Part of the hijab is covering the face and not uncovering it. This is permissible if they are a group, but not with a single man; because of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
A man should not be alone with a woman, for the Shaytan is the third among them.لا يخلون رجل بامرأة؛ فإن الشيطان ثالثهما
Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 2:94
Therefore, she must not be alone with one of her cousins or any other non-mahram.
However, if she sits with a group along with her family, or with her sisters' husbands, or her husband's brothers, being modest, far from fitnah, covered and wearing a head covering over her face and body, then there is no blame in that for exchanging greetings and conversing about matters of concern to them, without displaying any adornment, and without saying anything harmful that would lead to fitnah. Ordinary conversation in which there is no blame is fine. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
