What is the meaning of: {Indeed, We offered the trust to the heavens and the earth}?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This questioner says: I hope for an explanation of the noble verse: I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan:
Indeed, we offered the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, and they declined to bear it and feared it; but man [undertook to] bear it. Indeed, he was unjust and ignorant.
[Al-Ahzab: 72]. He hopes for an explanation of this verse?

Answer:
The trust is the right of Allah over His servants, and what He has prescribed for them of tawhid (the oneness of Allah), and sincerity to Him, and all else that He has made obligatory upon them, such as prayer, and leaving what Allah has forbidden, and likewise the rights of the servants, such as the right of the parents, the right of kinship, and others.
So the trust is what Allah has commanded and what He has made obligatory upon His servants. They must fulfill this trust in the prescribed manner, as Allah the Exalted said:
Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are dueإِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تُؤَدُّوا الأَمَانَاتِ إِلَى أَهْلِهَا
[An-Nisa: 58]. And He, Glorified is He, said:
And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentiveوَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَانَاتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَاعُونَ
[Al-Mu'minun: 8]. And He, Glorified is He, said:
O you who have believed, do not betray Allah and the Messenger or betray your trusts while you know [the consequence].
[Al-Anfal: 27].
So when the believer enters into this state of ihram, meaning the general state of ihram, he should strive to fulfill what Allah has made obligatory upon him. And when he enters into prayer, he fulfills what Allah has made obligatory upon him. And when he enters into fasting, he fulfills what Allah has made obligatory upon him. And in zakah, he fulfills what Allah has made obligatory upon him. And so on, they are all trusts. So Hajj is a trust, fasting is a trust, zakah is a trust, and prayer is a trust... dutifulness to parents is a trust... leaving the forbidden things is a trust. So it is obligatory to fulfill them with a willing heart, sincerity, and desire for what is with Allah. So when he enters into prayer, he enters with an open chest and desire for what is with Allah, so that he fulfills it completely. And so he gives zakah with a willing heart, hoping for what is with Allah. And so he fasts Ramadan with a lawful fast, far from what Allah has forbidden. And so when he performs Hajj, he protects his Hajj from what Allah has forbidden him. And so with the rest of the matters.
For this trust is not equaled by anything; rather, it is the great trust, and it is the religion of Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He). For this reason, He offered it to the heavens, the earth, and the mountains; so they refused to carry it and feared it, because of the greatness of its affair.
So it is obligatory for the one who is accountable among the children of Adam to take care of it, and to fulfill it completely in the manner of sincerity to Allah, in doing the obligatory acts and in leaving the forbidden things, hoping for the reward of Allah and fearing the punishment of Allah, Glorified is He. Yes.
