Is the 'Id sacrifice sufficient for a married son and his father?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
From Mudd al-Dhahab Hospital, a message arrived from one of the listening brothers, (A. G. 'A. A.). His question is also about the 'Id sacrifices. He asks about a single sacrifice: Is it sufficient, or does it suffice, for me and my father, knowing that I am married and have a family, and naturally, the father has one as well?

Answer:
If you are in one house, one sacrifice is sufficient for both of you. It is the recommended practice (sunnah) for you, your father, your wives, and your children. However, if you are in a separate house and your father is in a separate house, the recommended practice (sunnah) is for each of you to sacrifice for himself and his household. This is based on his saying (peace and blessings be upon him) in the hadith... because he (peace and blessings be upon him) used to sacrifice with two sheep... two rams—(peace and blessings be upon him)—"He used to sacrifice with two white rams, one for himself and his household, and the other for the Ummah of Muhammad, (peace and blessings be upon him)."
So the result is: if you are independent and he is independent, the recommended practice (sunnah) is for each one to sacrifice for himself and his household. But if you are in one house together, your situation is the same, one is sufficient. And if you sacrifice with more, there is no harm. The matter is broad in this regard. Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him)—the noble Companion—said:
We used to sacrifice with a single sheep in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); a man would sacrifice with it for himself and his household.كنا في عهد النبي ﷺ نضحي بالشاة الواحدة، يضحي بها الرجل عنه، وأهل بيته
Yes.
