Guidance for one who feels he has committed sins alongside his obedience to Allah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner says: There is a matter that worries me, O Shaykh, and I hope you will guide me to it. It is that I am very afraid of the punishment of Allah , and I feel that I am committing many sins in my life. I try to draw near to Allah through prayer and glorification, but even so, I feel that I am falling short greatly in the rights of Allah, especially when I read about the stations of the believers in Paradise. Please guide me, O Shaykh?

Answer:
These are whispers, my brother. Fear Allah. These are whispers. Cast them out of your mind and seek refuge in Allah from Satan. If you do not know of any sins, then cast aside these whispers and know that they are from Satan. Say: “I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan.” There is no harm in spitting to your left, even in prayer, three times, and saying: “I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan.”
However, if you know of some sins, then hasten to repent. You know that you were undutiful to your parents, that you left some of the prayers, that you struck someone, or took someone’s money. Hasten to repent. For the sin you know, hasten to repent. Repentance is regret for the past, a sincere resolve not to return to the sin along with abandoning it and turning away from it, out of fear of Allah and exalting Allah. If the sin involves the creation, you must return their rights to them, give them their rights, or seek their forgiveness for your right over them. Part of the completion of repentance is giving him his right, the money you took from him, or striking him, or killing his son, or something similar. You give him his right by retaliation, by returning the money. This is part of the completion of repentance.
As for whispers that have no basis, where you do not know of any sins you have committed, this is from Satan. Do not pay attention to them, cast them aside, ask your Lord for well-being from them, seek refuge in Allah from Satan, and be glad of good.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, O Shaykh.
