Minor Sins

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Your Eminence! After that, we move on to another question in which the questioner asks: What are the minor sins, with examples thereof? May you be rewarded.

Answer:
Minor sins: those that a person considers trivial and views as small. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Beware of minor sins; for they accumulate upon the servant until they destroy him.إياكم ومحقرات الذنوب؛ فإنها تجتمع على العبد حتى تهلكه
And in the other wording:
for they have a pursuer from Allahفإن لها من الله طالبًا
Sunan Ibn Majah 4243Sahih (Darussalam)
He gave the example of a group of people who stop at a place to prepare their food; one brings a stick, another brings a stick, and another brings a dung, and they light a fire and cook their food on these insignificant things. Minor sins are those that one views as small; (he considers them trivial) means he views them as small sins.
Some people may view backbiting as a minor sin. Some people may view speaking harshly about others, or speaking ill of them, as a minor sin, meaning that they do not conduct themselves with propriety toward them, but rather speak about them with ugly words. Some people may view disobeying their father, or not maintaining their family ties, as something insignificant. One may believe in things that are insignificant and small, when in fact they are not so; they may be major sins, and he does not know it. They may accumulate upon him; they are small, but they accumulate until they destroy him due to their multitude and his negligence regarding them.
The point is: the minor sins that a person views as insignificant, meaning he is lax with them; meaning he views them as not being among the major sins, and he views it that Allah will forgive him for them; because in his belief, they are not—meaning—severe, and they do not involve injustice to people, or hardship for them. This is the meaning of minor sins.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
