The Ruling on Reciting Dhikr with a Misbaha

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
In the last of this questioner's questions, he asks: What is the ruling on using the known prayer beads for dhikr, and is this a religious innovation, O Shaykh?

Answer:
The stronger position is that there is no harm in that; because it is reported from some of the female Companions and from some of the Salaf that they used pebbles, dates pits, and knots for dhikr, and there is nothing wrong with that. However, the fingers are better, as one should recite dhikr with his fingers, just as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite dhikr with his fingers. This is the best, and this is the Sunnah: using the fingers.
And if he uses the prayer beads, or pebbles, or a date pit at times in his house, there is nothing wrong with it; but in the mosques, in the presence of people, it is better to use the fingers, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to do.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
