What is the ruling on tasbih with a misbaha?

Question:
The questioner from Al-Aflaj sent this question (F. M. H), saying: Your Eminence! What is the ruling on tasbih and tahlil with a misbaha, and is it permissible, knowing that I have been doing tasbih with this misbaha that I carry with me for a long time?

Answer:
There is no harm in doing tasbih with a misbaha, there is no harm in that, or with seeds, or with some pebbles, or with coffee beans, or something similar; there is no harm in that, or with a string of beads; using a string of beads is fine. But the best is with the fingers. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to do tasbih with his fingers. So if one does tasbih with anything else, there is no harm in that, but the best is to do tasbih with your fingers, especially in the prayers when people are in the mosques, it should be with your fingers. As for at home, the matter is broader and easier. Yes.
