How can a Muslim occupy his time?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This questioner, Hussein Saleh from Yemen, says: Some of the young people these days, and I am among them, complain about having too much free time. So how can a Muslim occupy his time? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
Time is precious, more noble than gold. It should be occupied with what is beneficial: reading the Qur'an, glorifying Allah, saying the talbiyah, and remembrance of Allah; attending gatherings of knowledge and circles of knowledge; visiting the sick; reading the Qur'an frequently; sitting in his home remembering Allah, reading the Qur'an, seeking forgiveness, and making supplication. In other words, he should utilize his time so that it is not wasted. Among the best ways to utilize it is reading the Qur'an, increasing the remembrance of Allah, and performing voluntary prayers. If it is easy for him to visit a sick brother of his, or to visit a friend to help him with good, or to go to a circle of knowledge if one exists and attend it, or something similar, that is good.
In other words, he should preserve this time for what benefits him in his religion, or in his worldly affairs, or in his farm; for watering it and attending to its needs, or in the market seeking a livelihood, the market of buying and selling to seek a livelihood. He should seek out what is lawful, and beware of false testimony, and beware of lying, and beware of deception. There is no harm in all of this; it is all good.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
