The ruling on the prayer of one who prayed while in a state of major ritual impurity

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We conclude this session with a question from the questioner Samir Muhammad from al-Qassim. He says: After I prayed Fajr in congregation, I discovered that I was in a state of major ritual impurity. I performed the full ritual bath, then I prayed Fajr again after the bath. Was my prayer before the bath valid, since I did not know that I was in a state of major ritual impurity?

Answer:
The prayer is not valid, as long as you knew that you were in a state of major ritual impurity, or in a state of ritual impurity; therefore, the prayer is not valid. However, the prayer of those who prayed with you and did not know is valid. As for you, your prayer is not valid; you must repeat it, because you knew that you were in a state of ritual impurity. You have to repeat the prayer, just as if you had prayed while in a state of minor ritual impurity and then learned of it after the prayer; you would have to repeat the prayer. Therefore, the one in a state of major ritual impurity and the one in a state of minor ritual impurity must repeat the prayer if they prayed in a state of ritual impurity and then learned of it. They must repeat the prayer.
As for if they were imams and did not know until after the prayer, the prayer of those behind them is valid. As for them, they must repeat the prayer. If one became aware while in the prayer, he should leave it, appoint someone to pray with them and complete the prayer, or bring forward one person, meaning: bring forward one person to pray with them. And praise be to Allah. Yes.

The presenter: Thank you, Your Eminence, and may Allah bless you, your knowledge, and benefit the Muslims through you.
