Exegesis of His saying: {Indeed, Allah does not forgive that partners be associated with Him}

Question:
One of the listening brothers sent a message saying: A Sudanese resident in the Kingdom is asking about the exegesis of the saying of the Truth — Blessed and Exalted is He: I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan [Al-Nisa: 48].
Answer:
This verse, on its apparent meaning, indicates that whoever dies upon shirk (associating partners with Allah) will have the Fire — may Allah protect us from it — and will be eternal in it, never to be forgiven, provided that the call to Islam reached him. As for whoever dies upon sins less than shirk, he is under the will of Allah according to the people of the Sunnah and the community, because of this great verse. So if he dies upon zina (unlawful sexual intercourse), or drinking khamr (intoxicants), or undutifulness to parents, or the like of these sins, he is under the will of Allah. If Allah wills, He will forgive him; and if He wills, He will punish him according to the sin upon which he died, and then after purification, Allah will take him out of the Fire.
This is the truth according to the people of the Sunnah and the community. If he dies upon a sin that does not constitute disbelief, and he did not consider it permissible — he died while engaging in drinking khamr, or riba (usury or interest), or undutifulness to parents, or backbiting, or talebearing — he is under the will of Allah. If Allah wills, He will forgive him and pardon him by His grace and kindness. This may be due to his righteous deeds. And if He wills — Exalted and Majestic is He — He will punish him according to his sin with a punishment befitting Him, for He is the All-Forgiving, the Generous, the Most Merciful . He will punish him as He wills for the sin upon which he died and for which he did not repent, as He wills . Yes.

Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills
